ARTIST STATEMENT

I love everything about watercolor- its elusive, capricious nature, the way the paint mixes and runs, the colors I create, and those that
appear miraculously on the paper with little intention on my part. I’m quite a nature nerd, so many of my paintings are inspired by
the landscape. I try to stay open to the lessons that watercolor provides in both art and life: learning to see the glory in both light and
shadow, embracing the beauty of the unexpected and the unplanned, marveling at colors I never knew existed, and learning to see
what is right in front of me.
